DPB48 4-Input 8-Output Digital Audio Processor with FIR and Ethernet Control
The Haozhiseng Audio DPB48 is a professional 4-input, 8-output digital audio processor designed for loudspeaker management in live sound systems and fixed installations. Combining 96 kHz sampling, 64-bit floating-point DSP, and 32-bit A/D and D/A conversion, it provides comprehensive tools for signal routing, equalization, crossover adjustment, time alignment, and dynamics control.
With 4 female XLR inputs and 8 male XLR outputs, the DPB48 offers flexible connectivity for multi-way loudspeaker systems, subwoofers, stage monitors, and distributed sound installations. Independent FIR filtering and 12-band EQ on every input and output support detailed system tuning, while USB, RS485, and Ethernet TCP/IP interfaces provide convenient PC control.

Flexible 4 × 8 Loudspeaker Management
The DPB48 allows each of its eight outputs to receive an individual input signal or a combination of input channels. This routing flexibility supports configurations such as main loudspeakers with subwoofers, multi-way systems, stage monitoring, front fills, and delay speakers.
Independent output gain, mute, polarity, crossover, and delay controls allow installers to configure each loudspeaker feed according to the system’s requirements.
FIR Filtering and 12-Band Equalization
Every input and output features an independent FIR filter supporting up to 1024th-order filtering. The PC software displays magnitude and phase response curves, helping users review filter settings during system tuning. FIR parameters can be saved within user programs for convenient recall.
Each channel also provides 12 independent EQ bands, with the following filter options:
- Parametric EQ
- Low-shelf and high-shelf filters
- First-order all-pass filters
- Second-order all-pass filters
EQ frequencies range from 19.7 Hz to 20 kHz, with gain adjustment from −20 to +20 dB. Individual bands or the complete EQ section can be bypassed for comparison during setup.
Crossover Filters and Time Alignment
Independent high-pass and low-pass filters are available on every output. Choose from Bessel, Butterworth, and Linkwitz-Riley filter types to configure frequency bands for compatible loudspeaker systems.
Bessel and Butterworth filters offer slopes from 12 to 48 dB/octave, while Linkwitz-Riley filters provide 12, 24, 36, and 48 dB/octave options.
Each input and output also provides 0–1000 ms of delay, with fine adjustment in 10 µs steps. Delay can be displayed in milliseconds, meters, or feet to simplify alignment between loudspeaker positions.
Dynamics Control and Sound Adjustment
The DPB48 includes input noise gates, automatic gain control, compression, and harmonic excitation. Each input provides one subharmonic exciter and three higher-harmonic exciters for additional tonal adjustment.
Every output includes independent compression and limiting with selectable PEAK or RMS detection, adjustable threshold, knee, attack, and release settings. When configured for the connected system, these controls help manage signal peaks and operating levels.
Two dynamic EQ bands and a bass-enhancement function on each output provide further control over frequency balance and low-frequency response.
Front-Panel and PC Control
Adjust settings directly using the front-panel function keys, rotary encoder, and 2-inch TFT color display, or use the PC software for a graphical overview of processing parameters.
Control connections include:
- Front-panel USB port
- Rear-panel RS485 terminal-block connector
- Rear-panel RJ45 Ethernet TCP/IP connector
RS485 supports cascading up to 250 devices with individual device IDs. Channel copying and linked adjustment help streamline configuration across multiple channels.
Preset Storage and Installation Control
Store up to 60 user programs onboard for different loudspeaker configurations, venues, or operating requirements. Additional program data can be saved through the PC software.
Individual functions can be locked to help prevent unintended changes. A control-code generator in the PC software supports integration with central control systems.
The built-in signal generator offers white noise, pink noise, sine-wave, and frequency-sweep modes for system setup and testing.
